Dandenong Ranges Emergency Relief Service

Did you know that in Belgrave there is a community service that is hugely valuable to the people struggling in the local area? Dandenong Ranges Emergency Relief Inc. provide a no judgement support care and aid network for those who are doing it tough. You never know when life can throw you a curve ball, things can change in an instant and everyone needs help at some point in their lives.

DRER have been helping people in Belgrave and the hills area for many years with clothing, food and monetary assistance to those facing hardship and calamity. Their mission statement says it all:

“We aim to provide without judgement, bias or discrimination, the necessities of life in the time of crisis. We endevour to assist people who are disadvantaged due to illness, disability and poverty thereby creating a stronger, healthier and more caring community.”
The organisation is spread over three Belgrave sites:
  • The Emergency Relief Service on the corner of Burwood Hwy and the Hayes Carpark.
  • The Op Shop down at the other end of town near the large round about next to the Belgrave Post Office.
  • Mission Impossible drop-in centre on the corner of Burwood Hwy and Reynolds Lane.

They are in need of constant support from the members of the community who can afford to pass on a little of their own good fortune to help those with less. Food and clothing donations are always welcome, but cash donations really make all the difference.

If you can afford even a small contribution please go onto the DRERS website and see how you can help.
